Pretty much yeah. I'm not sure anything would change if someone else won, there's such a massive industry of corruption in Brasília that, if you get elected on the basis of changing everything around, you'll just get ejected or killed off. Plus, when the country has been on the "way down" for the majority of its history, I'm not holding my breath for improvements.

It's started up proper early this year, but it's been warming up at least since the second half of 2013. I'd probably be fine with it if it weren't for everyone I know getting rabid about political parties and figures. I swear, you'd rather insult their moms than their candidates...

No, I suppose it can't. I've seen how heated campaigns and discussions get over there, and it's one of the few times I'm glad I'm not American. Still, you always get the option not to vote and a relative freedom to live apart from politics, that is, the government doesn't have the same kind of presence in the US as it does in Brazil... At least I hope.
